O International Uranium Film Festival (IUFF), que acontece anualmente na Cinemateca do MAM Rio, é um dos 25 Festivais de Cinema Mais Legais do Mundo 2024 / “25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World 2024”. Ele é unico festival brasileiro nesta lista da revista de Hollywood.
Rio de Janeiro, 10.10.2024 - O festival de cinema carioca, International Uranium Film Festival, também conhecido como o Festival de Cinema da Era Atômica, que acontece anualmente na Cinemateca do MAM Rio e em várias outras cidades no mundo, como Berlim e Hollywood, é um dos 25 festivais de cinema mais legais do mundo. A seleção foi feita pela prestigiada revista de Hollywood MovieMaker Magazine que explica o sentido de “cool festival”: “Em um "festival cool" você simplesmente se sente confortável desde o momento que chega — mas também é encorajado a pensar mais alto sobre sua vida e o que você quer fazer com ela.” MovieMaker Magazine

O Uranium Film Festival foi criado pela professora da FAETEC Márcia Gomes de Oliveira Suchanek e pelo jornalista alemão Norbert G. Suchanek, em 2010, no bairro artístico de Santa Teresa, e conta desde o começo com o apoio local do Bar do Mineiro, Armazém São Thiago, Esquina de Santa e Cachaça Magnífica de Faria. "Agradecemos a todos os nossos apoiadores e aos cineastas que participam com seus filmes em nosso festival que realmente é único no mundo." Fala a diretora e co-fundadora, socióloga Márcia Gomes que foi criada no Bairro Jabour e tem hoje seu nome citado na lista dos 25 festivais de cinema mais legais do mundo.
Sobre Uranium Film Festival
O International Uranium Film Festival, fundado em 2010, é dedicado a todas as questões nucleares e a toda a cadeia do combustível nuclear, da mineração de urânio ao lixo nuclear, da guerra nuclear aos acidentes nucleares. Nos últimos 14 anos, o Uranium Film Festival não só foi realizado no Rio, mas também em vários outros países e cidades como Berlim, Nova Delhi, Nova York, Washington DC, Window Rock e Santa Fé.
