We are proud to announce the 10th International Uranium Film Festival Rio de Janeiro 2021. Due to the ongoing Corona Virus restrictions It will be the festival’s first online edition in cooperation with the Cinematheque of Rio de Janeiro’s prestigious Modern Art Museum (MAM Rio).

10 Years Fukushima - 76 Years Hiroshima & Nagasaki - 10 Years Uranium Film Festival

2021 marks 10 years nuclear disaster at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. In addition on January 22, 2021, the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) came into force. Therefore the International Uranium Film Festival plans to screen online from May 20 to May 30 more than 50 films about these important issues including the best films of the past 10 festival years. Statements and chats are also planned with filmmakers and nuclear experts around the world.

Soon we will publish the final festival film program here. Stay tuned.

Since its first edition in May 2011, the International Uranium Film Festival (also known as the Atomic Age Cinema Fest) has been recognized around the world as the premier nuclear energy-themed film festival. Until today more than 60 Uranium Film Festivals took place in more than 40 cities in seven countries like Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Jordan, Portugal and USA with the presence of over 100 filmmakers, producers, actors and actresses. Since 2011 we're transforming the way people see the nuclear world through film but we simply couldn’t do it without your support.

In these unpredictable times of Covid-19 the Uranium Film Festival relies more than ever on support and partnership of those who share our passion for nuclear awareness and believe in the power of cinema.
