Uranium Film Festival participa da 6ª Longa Noite dos Festivais de Cinema de Berlim - Lange Nacht der Filmfestivals 2018
Uranium Film Festival faz parte do seleto grupo da rede de festivais de cinema (FESTIWELT) que acontecem anualmente na fantástica cidade de Berlim e vai participar pela segunda vez da Longa Noite dos Festivais de Cinema de Berlim - Lange Nacht der Filmfestivals 2018.
Os melhores festivais estarão juntos nesta noite de verão, dia 18 de agosto, das três da tarde até sete da manhã. Telão a céu aberto, filmes, debates, concertos e festa! Muita festa! É neste ambiente que vamos apresentar três excelentes curtas refletindo o poder atômico e seus riscos, a partir de uma perspectiva artística:
Vamos abrir nossa apresentação com o extraordinário Peter Greenaway. O seu vídeo performance ATOMIC BOMBS ON THE PLANET EARTH (2011) nos leva para uma viagem ao absurdo do real - das explosões das 2.201 bombas atômicas lançadas na Terra, entre 1945 e 1989. Em seguida apresentaremos duas novas produções: ANOINTED (2018) dirigido por Dan Lin e Kathy Jetñil-Kijiner. O filme é uma narrativa poética de Kathy, filha da Ilhas Marshall - como ela mesma se apresenta -, sobre as 67 bombas nucleares que o governo dos Estados Unidos explodiu sobre sua terra natal no Pacífico Sul, entre 1946 e 1958. Outra obra de arte será o filme da videoartista Kelly Whalen, DIGNITY AT A MONUMENTAL SCALE (2018) que mostra o trabalho monumental do fotógrafo e médico Chip Thomas, que acompanha há 30 anos as consequências da mineração de urânio na saúde dos Navajo, no Arizona, Estados Unidos.
Após esta rápida passagem pelo verão agitado de Berlim, o Uranium Film Festival volta à capital alemã, de 09 a 14 de outubro, para realizar sua edição 2018 com seus melhores filmes do ano.

When images of everyday Navajo life began appearing at a monumental scale on abandoned buildings, roadside stands and water towers across the Four Corners region, it was a surprise for many in the community to discover it was the work of Chip Thomas (aka Jetsonorama), a long-time resident known by many as a healer of another kind. https://vimeo.com/261408010
