Wain Fimeri

Wain has a consuming interest in people, history and stories. His work roams from dramatic screenwriting to factual documentary and quite often, a bit of both. He's a writer and director of film and television work that has resulted in prestigious acclaim from all over the world.

He’s an AFI winner. He won the NSW Premier’s History Award, the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Screenwriting and a Eureka award, Australia’s premier award for science journalism. 
Among international awards, he has a menagerie, from a Canadian Rockie from BANFF World Media Festival Best Science and Technology Program, and a Leo award and a Gemini award for most outstanding documentary. He has a Remi award from Worldfest Houston, a double Helix from Jackson Hole Science Media awards for best long form series, a New York Festival, World Silver Medal for docudrama, and a Gold Camera Award, US International Film and Video Festival.  Among the menagerie are Atom awards for best science, best history and best factual documentary, a Henry Lawson literary award, a Yellow Einstein from Brazil, and the Manning Clark House National Cultural Group award for making an outstanding contribution to the quality of Australian cultural life. His formal qualifications are a degree in Fine Arts, and Postgraduate studies in Film. The Australian said, ‘Fimeri works with a poetic restraint … with grace, quiet humour, Fimeri sees his job as winkling out the truth, one of interpretation, selection and conjuring a terrific story.’ http://www.wainfimeri.com/pgs/produced.html
